COMEDIAN HEATHER MCDONALD CELEBRATES DAFFY’S 50TH BIRTHDAY WITH A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND “CAKEWALK” EVENT IN GREELEY SQUARE PARK ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 22

Daffy’s, a family owned business since 1961 and one of the creators of the off-price retailing segment, will take the cake when the retailer celebrates its 50th birthday with a unique fashion showcase dubbed “Cakewalk” on Thursday, September 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in Greeley Square Park, located at West 32nd Street and Broadway in Manhattan. The event, hosted by comedian Heather McDonald, who is best known for her appearances on E! Entertainment’s hit show “Chelsea Lately,” will showcase “Cakewalk” models premiering Daffy’s fall fashion collection.

And here is the real icing on the cake: Daffy’s has teamed up with WE tv’s “Staten Island Cakes” star Vincent Buzzetta, who will create the Daffy’s 10 foot high real four layer birthday cake.

On the heels of Fashion Week, Daffy’s will present a gorgeous assortment of fall apparel at irresistible prices for both men and women at this first-of-its-kind fashion show. Earlier this year, Daffy’s announced a new CEO and President, Caryn Lerner, who is bringing Daffy’s into the next 50 years with on-style trends and a fashion forward perspective.

The “Cakewalk” is a free event and open to the public beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Greeley Square Park. After the event, free cake from Vincent Buzzetta and a special birthday discount will be given out to “Cakewalk” attendees at Daffy's flagship Herald Square store at 1311 Broadway at 34th Street.
