USA Network Characters Unite Month February 8

WHEN: Wednesday, February 8, 2012 10:00AM-8:00PM
WHERE: Union Square: Southwest corner of the intersection at 14th Street and University Place

As part of its Characters Unite Month to shine a special spotlight on the importance of combating hate and discrimination, USA is hosting an interactive pop-up experience providing New Yorkers and passersby the opportunity to spread the message that each of us, whoever we are, wherever we’re from can do something to fight intolerance.

The activation will take place in a highly stylized heated pop-up structure in Union Square, in which people will be able to create their own custom “I Won’t Stand For…” t-shirts.  Participants will be able to select a stamp representing an issue about which they are passionate -- choices include discrimination, prejudice, religious intolerance, racism, homophobia, ableism, among others.   After creating their personalized t-shirts, using a special photo kiosk, participants can take a photo to immediately upload to their social media sites.

Characters Unite Month will feature a variety of on-air programming, digital content and community events designed to educate and rally Americans to come together and fight discrimination in all its forms.  For more information, visit www.CharactersUnite.com.
